On the 5th of June 2023, the ECtHR published its communicated case no. 27915/22. The case concerns an Iraqi national who lodged an asylum application in Lithuania. The applicant was placed in a migrants’ camp where he allegedly did not have access to a lawyer. The applicant currently lives in Germany. The Court asks Parties, inter alia, whether the material conditions in the camp violated Article 3 ECHR, whether the applicant had an effective remedy to challenge them, and whether he was deprived of his liberty within the meaning of Article 5 ECHR.
