On the 18th of September 2023, the ECtHR published its communicated case no. 22144/23. The case concerns an Albanian national who was detained for his irregular entry and stay in Greece and was issued a removal decision ordering the continuation of his detention. The applicant claims that he remained in two police stations for 59 days in unsuitable conditions. The Court questions whether the conditions in the police stations amounted to violation of Article 3 ECHR and whether he had an effective domestic remedy in respect of his complaint regarding the detention conditions.
